Focus and Scope

The core focus of Argosys is Sustainable Tropical Agriculture and Resilient Crop Systems. The journal invites original research articles, critical reviews, systematic reviews, and other scholarly contributions related to the following areas:

  1. Crop Physiology and Production Systems
Studies on plant growth, development, yield formation, crop performance, and management practices that improve productivity and resource-use efficiency.
  2. Soil–Plant–Environment Interactions
Research examining the relationships among soil properties, nutrient dynamics, plant growth, water availability, environmental conditions, and crop performance.
  3. Sustainable Intensification of Crop Production
Studies that aim to increase crop productivity while reducing environmental impacts through efficient input use, ecological farming practices, and improved crop management strategies.
  4. Climate-Smart Agriculture and Crop Adaptation
Research on adaptive crop management strategies, climate-resilient production systems, mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions, and crop responses to climate variability and environmental stress.
  5. Agroecological Systems and Crop Modeling
Studies using ecological principles, simulation models, decision-support tools, or systems-based approaches to analyze, design, and improve sustainable crop production systems.
  6. Precision Agronomy and Digital Agriculture
Research involving sensors, remote sensing, data analytics, digital platforms, artificial intelligence, or other technologies to support precision crop management and evidence-based agricultural decision-making.
  7. Seed Systems and Crop Resilience
Studies on seed quality, seed technology, planting material, genetic diversity, seed distribution systems, and their contribution to resilient and adaptable crop production.
  8. Weed Science and Sustainable Weed Management
Research on weed ecology, crop–weed competition, integrated weed management, herbicide-resistance management, and alternative strategies for reducing dependence on chemical weed control.
  9. Biological Control and Bioagents in Agriculture
Studies on beneficial organisms, mycorrhizae, plant growth-promoting microbes, biological control agents, biostimulants, biofertilizers, and their roles in improving soil health, crop productivity, and sustainable farming systems.
